Mark is originally from New Jersey (the Garden State). He is a graduate of the University of Delaware and holds advanced degrees in Human Resource Development and Public Administration from George Washington University and Old Dominion University. He has guided the Horticulture Department at the Zoo for 29 years and has had the opportunity to create many innovative and rewarding programs for the community. Phone Number: (757)441-2374 ext. 249 Marie Butler: Landscape Coordinator Marie hails from Greensboro, North Carolina. She is a graduate of North Carolina State University. Her extensive travels have taken her to many parts of the world (her husband was in the Navy) where she has experienced many cultures. Her designs and plant selections for seasonal garden displays have turned the grounds into a “Zoological Garden.” She lectures throughout the year promoting zoo horticulture.
