Education

Education is an important part of our mission. From programs that enhance families’ visits to the Zoo to Scout Snoozes and academic presentations, we deliver many opportunities to help visitors learn more about our world and its fantastic animals.

• Kids & Family Programs – We offer storybook times, special programs for families and even Parents’ Night Out at the Virginia Zoo.
• Birthday Parties -- Throw the picture-perfect celebration that combines a birthday bash with a trip to the Virginia Zoo!
• Zoo Camps -- Spend school breaks at the Zoo. We offer spring, summer and winter camps for kids.
• Summer Group Programs – Add an animal presentation to your group’s summer programs for kids. You can visit the Zoo or we can come to you.
• School Programs – We can reinforce science lessons with our animals in informative programs that reinforce SOLs for pre-K through 12th grades.
• Scout Programs – The Virginia Zoo supports scouting with snoozes and badge programs.
• Library Programs – Add a wild touch to your library’s summer reading program with themed presentations by the Virginia Zoo.
