Bonanza
Join us for lots of fun down on the farm! Learn about
different animals associated with farm life and meet some personally.
Help us with the feeding chores in the barnyard by feeding the
goat yard.

Slithery
& Slimy
Party
with some of our "coolest" creatures - reptiles and
amphibians! How are they the same and how are they different?
Slither over to our reptile house to uncover their slimy secrets.
Marvelous
Menagerie
A menagerie of animals from insects to mammals will march over
to meet you. You and your guests will discover just how
unique animals can be.

YEAR OLDS
Jungle
Jamboree
Jump right in and take a jaunt through the jungle. Animals
here can be found everywhere from the forest floor to the canopy.
Meet some new friends and discover why they call this place
home.

Adventure
Is Africa the place for you? Take this adventure through
the zoo and you will end up meeting new friends too!
PARTY EXTRAS:
Make
your Zoo birthday party extra special by purchasing our animal-themed
tableware package. The package includes 15 invitations,
three tablecloths and 20 place settings with plate, cup, spoon
and napkin for $25.00
TIME:
Parties are held on
Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30 AM.-12:00 PM. and 2:00 PM.-3:30
PM. Please have guests arrive on time. Parties will
not be extended past the end times (you are welcome to spend more
time at the Zoo on your own).

Reserving
a party:
Parties
are scheduled on a first-come, first served basis and require
payment in full before the party will be booked. Birthday parties
are very popular and dates often book two months in advance.
Dates cannot be held by deposit only. No reservations
will be taken by phone. Birthday parties can be booked
in person at the Zoo during the hours of 10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Monday-Friday, online, or by mail or fax. We can not accept
registrations over the phone. If you are looking for a date
that is within two months, please call or email the janice.martin@norfolk.gov
to ensure availability before registering online.
THINGS
TO BRING:
You may bring your
own decorations, or purchase matching animal tablecloths and place
settings from us. (Please see Party Extras above.) The
Virginia Zoo does not allow outside food or drink to be brought
onto Zoo grounds. However, you may bring a cake, (ice
cream cakes are not recommended because refrigeration is not available)
plates and utensils, for the second hour of your party.
***Please
REMEMBER THAT THE ZOO DOES NOT ALLOW OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINK
(you may bring a cake only for birthday parties), BALLOONS,
STRAWS, ALCOHOL, CONFETTI OR BALLS on the premises to ensure
the safety of our animals.***
WHAT
TO EXPECT:
You may begin setting
up one half hour before your party start time when you are met
at the gate by your zoo educator. Party guests should gather
outside of the front gate until you and your educator return.
CANCELLATIONS:
Parties
must be cancelled at least four weeks in advance in order to
receive a 75% refund. A processing fee will be retained
on all cancellations. No refund will
be given for a party canceled less than four weeks before the
reserved date
The
Virginia Zoological Society reserves the right to cancel or
reschedule any activity. A full refund will be made if
an activity must be canceled by us. If the zoo is closed
due to bad weather, you will receive a full refund or be given
the opportunity to reschedule the party.
