Library Programs (All Ages)
Please note these programs are designed for organized groups such
as camp organizations, girl scouts, daycares, church groups, etc.

Live
Animal Programs (Ages 5 and up)

offer animal programs during the summer months that are great for
groups with participants ages 5 and up. We can conduct the programs
at the Zoo or at your location! Come join us this summer for a wild
adventure!
Creature
Features
Animals come in many sizes, shapes and colors. Some have fur while
others are covered in scales. Students will learn about different
animal coverings and how they protect animals from predators, climate
and humans. You'll also discover how these features help individual
animals in other unique ways.
Classy
Animals
Animals have class! No, they do not attend school, but they do have
families. You'll find out if a gecko and a salamander are related
and how tortoises and snakes are very similar during this classy zoo
adventure.

be available starting June 21, 2004

- Begin as early as 10:00

- Registration:
- You must pre-register
for education programs through the Education Department. Please
call the education department at (757) 441-2374 ext. 229 to receive
registrations forms by mail or fax. To receive forms by email, please
send an email to janice.martin@norfolk.gov.
- Cost
of program at the Zoo:
- $200.00 per program
including Zoo admission. 80 participants maximum.

of program at your facility:
- $200.00 plus travel
fee. 80 participants maximum per program. Due to temperature restrictions
of our animals, all programs must be held indoors at your location.
- Travel
Fees for "Zoo to You" Programs:
- Mileage is based on
round-trip. Travel fees will be determined by the Education Department
once they receive registration.

Library
Programs (Ages 5 and up)
The Bugs You Read About and the Beasts that Hunt Them
Insects,
spiders and creatures like that are fun to read about and make great
make-believe story characters, too. Participants can meet some
of them live for an entertaining learning experience and also meet
bigger animals who depend on them to link up their food chains in
the wild.
This program is specifically designed only to be conducted at
local libraries throughout the summer.
