The “ Day for People with disABILITIES ” is an event held each year in May at the Virginia Zoo. The event highlights a variety of opportunities available to the disABLED community of Hampton Roads.  The day includes the Norfolk Public Safety Expo, health screening, children's activities, a food vendor, and entertainment.

The event also features a resource fair for information about service providers and organizations that support individuals with a disABILITY.  Guests with a disability and their caregivers are provided free admission – regular admission applies to all others.
