Giving Membership as a Gift

An annual membership to the Virginia Zoo is a great gift for a family that keeps on giving all year long.  So, should you purchase a membership directly or purchase a gift certificate?

Membership Gift Certificate

Our recommendation is to purchase a gift certificate. This way, we can be sure the cards have the the correct contact information. When you purchase a gift certificate, the recipient will bring it with them to the Virginia Zoo the next time they visit in order to redeem the certificate for a membership. Membership gift certificates expire one year from the purchase date. The membership itself expires one year from the date the certificate is redeemed. To purchase a gift certificate online, go the membership form and use the following steps:

• Answer "yes" to the question -- "Is this a gift for someone else?"
• Check the "I have a promotional code" box
• Add the code "GIFT CERT" in the promotional code slot

Membership Purchase

If you still prefer to purchase the membership directly as a gift, we can do that too. We just need the name, address and number of children. The completed membership cards can be mailed to the recipient or to you. The membership will expire one year from the date of purchase.
