Hours

The Virginia Zoo is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except on major winter holidays; the Zoo is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Day).

The Virginia Zoo is located at 3500 Granby Street, Norfolk, VA 23504.

Admission

• Adults: $8.00
• Children: $6.00 (ages 2-11)
• Senior Citizens: $7.00 (ages 62 and older)
• Children under 2: Free
• Virginia Zoo Members: Free

All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Virginia Zoo accepts cash, Visa or MasterCard.  We do not take Discover or American Express or personal checks.

Train Tickets

• $2.00 per rider
• Zoo Train Spring Hours are in effect. The train will run Wednesdays through Sundays and be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. The train will be closed during inclement weather. For more information about the Zoo train, click here.

Wheelchair and Stroller Rentals

Wheelchairs and strollers are available for guest use. For assistance, please visit the Membership Office when you arrive at the Zoo.

Picnics

Please note that no outside food or drinks are allowed inside the Zoo.

If you want to have a picnic lunch, consider visiting Lafayette Park, just outside the Virginia Zoo. Located at the intersection of Granby and 35th Streets, the park features picnic shelters and a new playground. For information about this park or the City of Norfolk's Department of Parks and Recreation, visit www.norfolk.gov/rpos. No picnics are permitted inside the Virginia Zoo.
