Upcoming Spring Events at the Virginia Zoo

 


As an accredited Association of Zoos and Aquariums ( AZA ) facility, the Virginia Zoo exhibits over 350 animals, beautifully manicured grounds and offers a fun-filled day for all. For more than a century, the Virginia Zoo has demonstrated a commitment to wildlife, conservation and education. Below are upcoming programs and activities offered at the Zoo, which is located at 3500 Granby Street in Norfolk :

  

Sunday, March 30, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – Sunrise Surprise Stroll: African Animals
Seniors ages 62 and up are invited to a morning treat at the Zoo. Before the gates open, join an experienced educator for a guided tour of the Zoo's “African Animals.” Registration is $5.00 for members/$7.00 for non-members. For information, call (757) 441-2374, ext. 229.

Saturday, April 19, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. – Sunrise Surprise Stroll: Marvelous Mammals

Saturday, April 26, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. – Zoosploreers: Animal Trackers in My Zoo
Children ages 6 to 8 are invited to explore the Zoo. Enjoy hands-on investigations, animal encounters, crafts and more. Attendees will learn how to identify animal tracks and search for tracks around the Zoo. Registration is $15.00 for members/$18.00 for non-members. For information, call (757) 441-2374, ext. 229.

Saturday, April 26, 7:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. – Rock ‘N Roar!
Adults ages 21 and up are invited to Rock ‘n Roar – the wildest party of the season. Featuring music by Butter , food from top restaurants, silent auction and more, this is a can't miss event that supports the programs of the Virginia Zoo. Tickets are $40 for members, City of Norfolk employees and active duty military/$50 for non-members. For tickets or information, call (757) 441-2374, ext. 253.

Sunday, April 27, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Wild Adventures: Animal Rehab
This wild adventure is for children ages 6 to 12 and adults. Enjoy a guided tour of the Zoo, meet some animals and more. This month, come learn about the special people who rehabilitate wildlife and meet some rehabilitated animals at the Zoo. Registration is $25.00 for member families (up to 3 children) /$30.00 for non-member families (up to 3 children). For information, call (757) 441-2374, ext. 229.
