The Virginia Zoo Welcomes New

Director of Major Gifts and Donor Relations

NORFOLK , VA – The Virginia Zoo is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Anne Vogt as Director of Major Gifts and Donor Relations.  Vogt will work directly on the Virginia Zoological Society's capital campaign efforts which include the $15.5 million for “Trail of the Tiger” and $3 million for a Zoo Veterinary Hospital and animal diet kitchen.

“With over 15 years of experience in working with non-profit boards and other volunteers in a variety of capacities, Anne is a true asset to the Virginia Zoo's mission,” said Greg Bockheim, zoo executive director. “Her expertise in annual giving, capital and endowment campaign management are key strengths she brings to the zoo.”

Vogt began her career path of working with non-profit organizations at the Norfolk Botanical Garden 's as the Volunteer Coordinator. Wanting to pursue a career in fundraising and development, Vogt joined the Virginia Symphony as its Annual Fund Manager. Enjoying a five-year run with the Virginia Symphony, she was promoted to Associate Director, eventually serving as Interim Director of Development.  Vogt then became the Executive Director of Bon Secours DePaul Health Foundation.

Most recently, Vogt was a Vice President for The Curtis Group, a local fundraising consulting firm that specializes in developing capital campaigns and strategic planning for non-profit organizations. Her work with The Curtis Group has included fundraising projects throughout Hampton Roads, Bedford , VA , Washington D.C and Geneva , IL.

As an accredited Association of Zoos and Aquariums ( AZA ) facility, the Virginia Zoo exhibits over 350 animals, beautifully manicured grounds and offers a fun-filled day for all.
