TIMELESS MEMORIAL PLACED AT ZOO TO HONOR BOY SCOUT JACKSON FOX
NORFOLK , VA – The Fox family of Southampton County will honor their late son, Jackson Clarke Fox with the dedication of four bronze animal statues at the Virginia Zoo on Saturday, June 16, 2007 at 11 a.m.
The bronze statues include a nearly life size elephant mother and calf, white rhinoceros and Galapagos tortoise. All of which are climbable by zoo visitors and will offer unique photo opportunities.
The Virginia Zoo collaborated with the Fox family to determine an appropriate memorial for their son who was tragically killed in a car accident last November while returning home from a Boy Scout event in Blackstone.
Jackson 's love of animals inspired this timeless memorial and it was made possible through generous donations from family, friends and business leaders. The climbable bronze statues, costing more than $53,000 stand 4 to 7 feet tall and will be placed throughout Zoo grounds.
Each statue will be accompanied by a quote from the family showcased on a bronze plaque honoring Jackson .
