I
want to do a story about the Virginia Zoo. How do I set
up a visit?
A
Contact the
Marketing Department.
We can assist with story development, help with logistics,
even help with suggestions and access to resources if you're
covering other aspects of the story in the Hampton Roads
area.
Q
Do you offer
free admission for members of the media?
A
We offer free
admission to working media on assignment. Contact our Marketing
Department in advance of your visit.
Q
Can I take photos/video
inside the zoo?
A
All visitors
can take photos and video for their private, personal use
only. Media should contact the Marketing
Department in advance to arrange to shoot photos and
videos that will be used with articles and video programs
that include the Virginia Zoo. Taking photos or video, including
for stock images and other commercial purposes, is prohibited
unless authorized in advance by the Marketing
Department.
Q
Can I get photos
from you to use with my story?
A
Yes. We can
provide digital images and color transparencies (if available).
Video production should be scheduled with the Marketing
Department.
Q
Can I get photos
of animals for stories that don't relate to the Virginia
Zoo?
A
We do not serve
as a stock photo/video library. Contact the Marketing
Department for approval.
Q
Can I film scenes
for a movie or a TV commercial, or photograph an advertisement
at the zoo?
A
We consider
each of these requests on an individual basis. Contact the
Marketing Department
for approval.
Q
How can I reach
the Marketing or Development department staff if I have
more questions?
