| What are planned gifts?
Wills, trusts and estate plans are all ways that you can leave a planned
gift and help preserve the future of your Virginia Zoo.
How do planned gifts help the Zoo?
All gifts are a show of support and ensure the continual development
of your Zoo as an institution helping to create a sustainable future
for wildlife. Your planned gift can help build our endowment to ensure
a stable financial future for your zoo.
How does a donor benefit by making a planned
gift?
Donors who make any gift to the Virginia Zoo receive the satisfaction
of knowing they have contributed to enhancing the continual development
of the zoo and supporting wildlife conservation and environmental education.
In most cases, planned giving donors receive one or more of these benefits:
- Reduce estate, gift and/or current income taxes
- Reduce or eliminate taxes on capital gains at the time of the gift
- Secure income stream for the rest of your life
- Provide additional income for heirs
