Horticulture Open House & Teddy Bear Clinic
Saturday, September 12, 2009 Horticulture Open House:An Annual Tradition that’s a Perennial Favorite! Come learn our secrets for your success. Enjoy presentations by the Zoo staff and Master Gardeners who make our spectacular gardens grow. The family fun also includes entertainment, face painting, a plant sale and display by Tidewater Orchid Society. Teddy Bear Clinic at the Zoo Teddy bears with boo-boos and stuffed animals with scrapes are invited to come with their little human friends to a Teddy Bear Clinic presented by the Virginia Zoo and Pediatric Specialists, a Children's Medical Group Practice of CHKD. Kids will learn about medical care in a fun, comforting setting, while doctors and nurses stitch, splint, weigh and care for beloved toys. Bonus Book Signing Illustrator Joan Waites will be on hand from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. to sign copies of her book “What’s New at the Zoo?” All activities are included with Zoo admission.
